We recognize the importance of educating peers and school personnel to promote understanding, empathy and supportive peer behaviors to ease the transition back to school after an injury or illness.
Our pediatric Occupational Therapists (OTs) have created and presented numerous school re-entry presentations for returning students who have a chronic illness such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) or sustained an injury such as a traumatic brain injury or a burn/thermal injury.
Each school re-entry presentation is unique. We encourage the student, their caregivers and school personnel to participate and provide input (timing, audience, content, etc.) so the presentation meets the needs of each individual.
If you are interested in learning more about School Re-entry Presentations, please reach out to us and we would be happy to discuss.
