Barb graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2005 with a Master of Occupational Therapy, having previously graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in 2003 from the University of Manitoba.
Barb has worked in the private practice setting for Personal Best Therapy since late 2020. In addition, Barb has many years of experience working at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she has, and continues to, work in a variety of clinical areas including medicine, surgery, emergency, orthopedics, and neurology. Barb’s main role in these areas over the years has been discharge planning where she aims to enable her clients to return home as safely and independently as possible in their day-to-day living tasks. Barb concentrates on bringing empathy and understanding to each of her clients to better identify their unique challenges and difficulties, and therefore aid in providing the most appropriate treatment and support.
Barb also has a busy home life with her husband and 2 children, and enjoys family swims, camping, and movie nights. In addition, Barb enjoys keeping active via regular strength training, running, and indoor soccer in the winter.
Barb maintains annual membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM).
