Pronouns: She/Her

I began my career as an Occupational Therapist in 1987 at HSC Rehab Hospital, specializing in Burns/Plastics, Orthopedics and Work-Related Injuries. In 1993, I was given the opportunity to achieve a career goal working at HSC Children’s Hospital. Working as a pediatric OT, in a variety of areas of practice through the years has provided an amazing opportunity to learn from each child, be inspired by their journey and take the knowledge I gained to start Personal Best Therapy in 2012.

A highlight of my career includes the creation and evaluation of a School Re-entry Video Program, Still the Same: Returning to School After a Burn Injury. This program is unique in that young burn survivors themselves provide the education to facilitate a returning students transition back to school. I am inspired by the strength of all the survivors who contributed. I value the importance of lifelong learning and giving back. I have volunteered in different roles including many years attending and program planning for Burn Camp, supervising OT students annually or presenting my research at conferences while learning from others.

I chose the name Personal Best Therapy because it aligns with another passion of mine which is marathon running.  Each runner has a personal goal or a “personal best” they hope to achieve when running a race that is unique and chosen by themselves. At times, circumstances in life require us to modify our goals, whether it be to run a race, get dressed or complete a school assignment successfully. At Personal Best Therapy, we would like to support you on your journey to achieve your goal or your “Personal Best”.
