I started my career as an occupational therapist in 2021, graduating from the University of Manitoba. I also have an undergraduate degree in kinesiology with a designation in aging communities. I studied  occupational therapy because I love learning about health and the human body, and am passionate about helping people lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Since starting my career, I have worked primarily at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) in Winnipeg. I’ve worked at children’s hospital, where therapists specialize in feeding/swallowing assessments, developmental assessments, rehabilitation, and discharge planning. I have also worked in adult acute care at HSC, where I facilitated hospital discharges by assisting with equipment procurement, home modifications, administering cognitive assessments, and connecting individuals with community resources.  I also have experience in the adult inpatient psychiatry program at PsychHealth Centre, where I administered comprehensive functional assessments, facilitated group therapy, and provided treatments focused on cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectal behavioural therapy. I now work full time at Children’s Hospital.

In addition to my inpatient work, I also maintain a position with Personal Best Therapy. I enjoy working privately with this company because it allows me to gain a better understanding of the barriers that clients face in their home environments. Working with private clients also allows me to provide relevant, practical, and meaningful care to clients in their own homes, helping them to recover and develop adaptations following injuries or illness.”
