I began my career as an Occupational Therapist in 1987 at HSC Rehab Hospital, specializing in Burns/Plastics, Orthopedics and Work-Related Injuries. In 1993, I was given the opportunity to achieve a career goal working at HSC Children’s Hospital. Working as a pediatric OT, in a variety of areas of practice through the years has provided an amazing opportunity to learn from each child, be inspired by their journey and take the knowledge I gained to start Personal Best Therapy in 2012.

Bernadette graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1980 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy. During her career Bernadette has practiced in a variety of clinical settings including geriatrics, medicine, surgery, and outpatient hand therapy. In addition to her work with Personal Best Therapy Bernadette is also employed at the Health Sciences Centre in acute care, where she uses her many years of experience to assist clients with a safe discharge home.

After graduating in 2011 from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s of Occupational Therapy, Hon Ha began her career at Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre (HSC). Initially in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program with a focus on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and short-term crisis intervention. She then joined the Child Health team in Musculoskeletal Rehab and Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Naomi graduated from the University of Manitoba’s Masters of Occupational Therapy Program in 2015. From an early age, Naomi had an interest in a career in health care. It led her to the Occupational Therapy profession because of her interest in gaining knowledge and skills that would help individuals continue to have a meaningful quality of life after experiencing a change in their physical and/or cognitive status.

Barb graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2005 with a Master of Occupational Therapy, having previously graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in 2003 from the University of Manitoba. Barb has worked in the private practice setting for Personal Best Therapy since late 2020.

Sara-Jane has worked in a variety of clinical areas throughout her career and has developed knowledge and skills in many key areas of occupational therapy practice including assessment and treatment of issues secondary to: musculoskeletal conditions/injuries/disease; pediatric feeding; neurological diversity including cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injuries; positioning and seating; sensory processing; social skills; fine motor/perceptual skills; and complex discharge planning. She has a special interest in pediatrics as well as burns and hand therapy. 

Danielle graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2003 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy and later completed a research focused Masters of Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University with an interest in using research to support clinical practice. During her career she has worked in a variety of practice settings including inpatient adult rehabilitation, acute medicine and surgery as well as most recently in pediatrics. In addition to working with Personal Best Therapy she also works at Winnipeg Children’s Hospital with children and adolescents with acute and chronic musculoskeletal challenges including hand injuries, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, burns, as well as chronic pain. 

Curtis graduated in 2023 from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s of Occupational Therapy, after having completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Winnipeg in 2021.
